Movin' On Up!!

Sorry to be so late posting this "announcement" but I have a new blog now. It's called Holding Down The Fort and you can read it by clicking HERE. So come on over and join me, won't ya!!

PS- Donna McClain...to answer your questions...
* I haven't been posting here because I've been busy with my new blog. I didn't say anything about it here because honestly I didn't think anyone read this thing!

*North Carolina is a beautiful state and I love every region...especially the mountains. It's been super hot here lately but I can't complain too much to you since you live in the Keys!

*Our cat still has not come home. However the same day he disappeared a stray cat came to claim us....along with a few thousand fleas which we're in the process of battling at the moment. We think the new cat is female and we've named her Spare Cat for now.

*The wine was divine!! I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I really liked it and so did a lot of our friends and relatives.

*Last year we grew mainly tomatoes, peppers and onions in our garden. This year we've added corn, potatoes, radishes, and lettuce to the mix.

Thanks for taking the time to comment and keep me on my toes. Come visit the new blog when you can!

Turning Over A New Leaf

The cat is MIA and feared dead. I really hate that, too. I'm not much of a cat person, but this feline was beginning to grow on me. Elwood was actually useful. He could catch any kind of small rodent but was very gentle and patient with Geof. I'll go to the pound tomorrow to see if he's there. I really hope that he is.

Nathaniel is out on the road now. He has completed his CDL training and passed flying colors. He's traveling with a trainer and another newbie. Apparently his first run is to take 800 cases of panties to Wisconsin. Maybe something will be wrong with a box and I can get some new skivvies...hope they're not granny panties!

Dad went with me when I drove Nathaniel to Charlotte to begin his run. It was a lot harder than I imagined. He'll be gone anywhere from 14 to 20 days. Money is very low. I'm beginning to get concerned. Geof and I will probably stay with my parents when the food runs out. We've only got to hang on just a little bit longer before Nathaniel's pay starts coming in. We've already had to take $250 out of Geof's saving's account. That really makes us feel shitty, but it's our only option at the moment. He will be first in line for us to pay back. I think we'll make it, but it's going to be tight...very tight. Keep your fingers crossed!!
